Here we are at the end of November, heading into our homes this week, filled with love and light in celebration of Thanksgiving. In this first official edition of I Draw Home, I find myself thinking about those who are struggling right now.
As much as we all want to move through the holiday season while keeping ourselves sane, I challenge you to push the boundaries of what you feel capable of. Call it an act of resistance against a world that urges us to only take care of ourselves. But instead, I ask you to look across the dinner table and truly see the person you are talking to.
What better act of kindness than to really see someone? To listen—not just to their words, but to the pauses between them. Did something go wrong at work? Did a test at the doctor’s office not turn out okay? Are they simply feeling the weight of the season, missing someone they love? Let them know you care. That you are listening. That you are standing beside them in their storm, or celebrating with them in their joy.
What better gift can we give this week than the feeling of being known, appreciated, even cherished? See how many lives you can touch, just by being aware.

Pinecone decoration for autumn
This adorable ornament would be a perfect table craft for the family this Thanksgiving.
Plus you could even go on a walk to find the supplies first.
