This fall, I’m learning that leaving my garden a little wild—fallen leaves, dried stems, and all—is one of the kindest things I can do. The so-called “mess” is really a home for bees, butterflies, and birds.

Today I turn 50. And I feel more creatively alive than ever.
It’s never too late to start something meaningful — whether you’re drawing for the first time at 36, painting awkwardly at 38, or building a creative business at 50.
